TopHouse Historic Guesthouse offers boutique style accommodation. We do not consider the house to be a hotel, but more like a home away from home. 5 rooms sleep 10 persons ( 3 doubles, 1 single, 1 twin/triple). All guests have access to the 2 dining/sitting rooms with their open fires, tea, coffee making facilities and TopHouses unique bar... the smallest in New Zealand!
Dinners are served by prior reservation.
During the day TopHouse is open to the public serving light meals and snacks. High teas are a specialty but need to be reserved in advance.

As TopHouse is an A grade Historic building, built originally to cater for drovers en route from Nelson to Canterbury, the house does not offer ensuite rooms. 2 showers and toilets are located in the hallway. We do however provide you with fluffy dressing gowns, soap, shampoo and fresh towels daily. If an ensuite bathroom is of the utmost importance to you then please consider staying in the chalets on our property. These chalets sleep 4 comfortably in 2 separate bedrooms and are fully self contained.

As we know the area well, we like to take our guests on a tour off the beaten track and can also provide transport from airports in the region to Tophouse/St Arnaud.
